Ideologically they are quite different so I thought it would be best to separate them out.De Facto First Kiss Not the first girl I kissed When I was in kindergarten I didn’t know how to deal with girls. I thought you were supposed to kiss girls (I was 5). So I had a girl I liked named Laura. I used to chase her around the room and give her kisses on the cheek or on the lips. I would have been a regular Casanova, but she didn’t like it. She got teased about it. I got teased about it. Eventually I guess it got to me because I stopped. That however was my de facto first kiss.Real First Kiss I was so not the pimp I was a sophmore in high school, how I managed to get a girlfriend I still have no idea. Yet I did manage to. In the fall (somehwere in October-November) of 1991 I had my first kiss. It was at my girlfriend’s best friends house up the street from my parent’s house. I can say I don’t honestly know if we were actually dating yet though. We were sitting on the hood of her blue 1991 Mercury Topaz. It was odd, uncomfortable, strange. Picture from here Some people may notice that on my lifestream page it has a new look and feel, it also has a whole lot more stuff in it. I’ve transitioned to a new lifestreaming plugin, previously I was using the “Simple Life” plugin. The new plugin is is called “Lifestream”. It allows me to put in more RSS feeds then I was previously able to with “Simple Life”, it also performs a daily digest post (which has allowed me to stop using the twitter plugin I used to use to pull in my digest of tweets). There is one bug with the digest posting in the fact that it does a double post. For creeva.com this is easy to fix. I just go in each morning and remove the duplicate post. However the people feeling the sting are the ones that I crosspost to. There is absolutely no way I’m going to go everywhere my data replicates and track down and clean out the duplicate posts. I have been in contact with the plugin author and he is aware of the issue. He did some massive updating last night, let’s hope this got corrected. I was also kind enough to hide these daily posts from the front page of the blog. I didn’t want to make it seem that all I did was do daily updates of myself. I’m not that vane to broadcast on the front page of my blog. There is a link at the bottom of my lifestream to direct you to my lifestream archive. The other thing to notice is the multitude of items. It makes me look like an internet posting maniac. Ok I am an Internet posting maniac, but not as much as my lifestream shows. I thought it apt to try to get information on where my stuff is being posted and pull in the RSS feeds from here. This will allow readers to see everywhere I crosspost to how frequently they are updated. We’ll see if this is the magic bullet for my life vaulting. Picture from here Between setting up the blogs, playing the Myspace game Heroes, and tracking down alumni for band on Facebook and Myspace, I’ve spent a huge chunk of time on the social networking sites of the top tier. (If there are any alumni on secondary tiered social networks I will find you eventually.) Traditionally I have always held a strong hatred towards Myspace particularly. My most commented line about the site has been “Myspace, making the Web 2.0 looklike the web from 1996). Myspace has gotten better, but it is still downright ugly, clunky, and mostly a walled garden. I don’t like - and no recent usage hasn’t endeared me to it. I now have about 8 pages of email communication in Myspace (2 pages in Facebook) - that I have no method of saving, archiving, and retaining. Do you know how much I hate that? I’m someone who wants to save all his data forever, and thanks to the walled garden scenario it’s trapped. Maybe I’ll get lucky and it will eventually be freed. On the plus side my blog has been getting more hits, so I can’t complain about that. Exposure the whole yadda yadda about getting yourself out there, I’m doing it. I have been doing it for awhile but lately actually actively doing it. We’ll see, maybe Myspace will still self impload and take out the west coast. Now in the grand scheme of life I know that reaching level 22 is nothing. I reached it though, you can see my character here. The reason this is a big deal however is I’ve had a World of Warcraft account since a couple months after launch. The highest I’ve ever made it previously was level 20. I can’t say that I’m going to stick with it. I can’t say that I’m not going to be morally bored with it eventually. I’m still playing though. I prefer sandbox MMO’s ala SWG, but I’m sick of the managerial decisions behind that game so much I can’t go back. /sigh Let’s see if I actually make level 30.
